Multi-award winning American music act of Stu Kinzel & LynnAnn Hyde (“Best Traditional Act 2001-02-03” Cascade Blues Association- Hall of Fame Inductees) will take listeners on a “…tour of Southern music that will blow you away!” (The Oregonian, J Foyston). They are regarded as “Guardians of Traditional Blues” (The Blues Notes) and are also noted as “…one of the best acts the NW has produced…” (Back to the Roots, Be). They have been interviewed, reviewed and/or mentioned in publications around the world including: Living Blues, Blues Revue, Back to the Roots, The Jefferson, Juke Blues, Blues Freepress, Mary4Music, "Easy Reeding" (Hohner Harmonicas Newsletter), The "Blues Notes" (Cascade Blues Association Newsletter), The Oregonian, Salem Statesman Journal, San Diego Reader, Los Angeles FreePress, L'Monde au Blues, Los Angeles "Night Moves" and many other outlets for media and hard copy providers of Roots & Blues information. They appear on THIRTEEN "official" Blues compilation discs, and have their own original music aired on XM and NPR international radio.

Kinzel & Hyde have performed with some of the most beloved Blues musicians of our generation. While Stu Kinzel continues to amaze both listeners AND other artists with his finger picking and slide playing, LynnAnn has befriended and studied harmonica from national and international Blues artists including Paul deLay, Jerry McCain, Johnny Dyer, Lee McBee and Paul Oscher. Kinzel & Hyde have opened up for Lucky Peterson, Robert Junior Lockwood, Paul deLay, Ruthie Foster among many others, and were Joan Baez's opening act for "Arts & Air" Oregon dates at the Albany Arts&Air Shows.

The Kinzel & Hyde story includes years of community service. Some of the programs they helped to institute and participated in include Blues in the Schools, musical ministry at Sheridan Correctional Facility, Stewards at Ethos Inc, Artists in Residency at St Therese School, and perennial presenters at museums, universities, and other institutions or events dedicated to American cultural preservation. They have performed at music festivals featuring Roots and Blues music all over the NW region. Kinzel & Hyde host an interactive children’s presentation at the Waterfront Blues Festival that is an annual favorite, and they also host clinics, workshops, tutorials and cultural presentations for all age groups.

Stu Kinzel has been a NW mainstay guitarist and vocalist since 1976. He performed at the very first Waterfront Blues Festival and has been a repeat-billed performer eighteen times since then. He is noted as a master slide and finger-style guitarist, songwriter, vocalist. Longtime partner LynnAnn Hyde is a well-known and nationally endorsed harmonica and button-box player (former Hohner Harmonicas USA Artist Endorser/Lifetime Baldoni Accordions Artist Endorser) and is also a songwriter/arranger of note in the Pacific NW.

Together Kinzel & Hyde released several self-recorded and produced sides and discs, including 2002 “Oklahoma Credit Card” which is regarded as “…one of the ‘Best Release’ Blues recordings of 2001- 02….” (Ruth Brown, Blues OnStage, NPR) and recognized as a “…fine American Blues record that should be on everyone’s list” (Blues FreePress, Uk). The pair was included on the “Official Year of the Blues” CD release at the Waterfront Blues Festival 2003 (Allegro Records) and was prominently featured in the documentary film by BOB LEITCH “Portland Mojo-How Stumptown Got the Blues” which previewed at the Portland Art Museum Jan 2010 and is into national distribution with Criminal Records. More compilations include Ruff Records new release featuring women harmonica players from around the world, Raw Records "Portland Blues" Tk/Undercover records "Blues from the Pacific Delta" and others.
